Is the queue at your counter still competing with the phone?

At Gift of Sight Eye Hospital in Tiruchirappalli, one receptionist took every call and wrote every booking into a register by hand. She wrote out every receipt too, with the queue at the counter still in front of her. MediFlow is live there now, and this page is about her day, not about how long anyone stood in line.

Live at Gift of Sight Eye Hospital, Tiruchirappalli

An on-premise deployment for SIMS Chellum Hospital in Salem is in progress and is not live yet. The full engineering account of the Tiruchirappalli hospital, including what the front desk ran before, is written up as a case study.

What changes at the desk

The desk stops choosing between the phone and the queue.

Your staff still run the walk-ins, the billing and the pharmacy counter from the same desk. What moves off it is the call that only existed because there was no other way in.

Why this works

One more way in, not one more system to run.

WhatsApp booking does not replace the front desk. It takes the calls that would otherwise compete with the queue at the counter.

The front desk and the phone are still open. Book at the counter, over the phone, or on WhatsApp, and the booking lands in the same day list, in the order it arrived.

Every step a patient takes inside that WhatsApp conversation, from the first message to a confirmed slot, is on the MediFlow product page.

Frequently asked questions

The front desk's questions, answered plainly.

Does moving booking onto WhatsApp remove the front desk?

No. Walk-ins, billing and the pharmacy counter still run through the same desk. WhatsApp becomes one more way in, alongside the phone and the counter, not a replacement for either.

What happens to a booking still taken at the counter or over the phone?

It lands in the same day list as a WhatsApp booking, in the order it arrived, with nothing written twice. A Booked via column on that list shows how each one came in.

Does the register and the receipt book go away?

A hospital can keep paper if it wants to. What changes is that every bill and every receipt is numbered on its own series, one that cannot duplicate or skip a number, and a correction is a new document rather than an edit to the old one.

What happens to a patient's booking when a doctor takes sudden leave?

Every affected patient with a phone number on record is sent a WhatsApp notice, with buttons to reschedule or cancel in the same thread. The desk still phones the ones booked within the next few hours, rather than working the whole list by hand.

Is MediFlow live at more than one hospital?

One hospital is live: Gift of Sight Eye Hospital in Tiruchirappalli, where the front desk described on this page runs on it today. An on-premise deployment for SIMS Chellum Hospital in Salem is in progress and is not live yet.

Try it the way your patients would.

The demo runs on WhatsApp and follows the same booking flow a patient uses. If you would rather talk it through first, that is usually the faster way in.
