What is in MediFlow Full HMS
Everything in OPD, Pharmacy, Lab and Inpatient
Medical records department
- Find any patient's record by name, MR number, old paper MR number or phone digits.
- Read a patient's whole record: visits, stays, appointments, documents and a log of who opened it.
- Log each request for copies from patients, relatives, insurers, police or courts, and record the decision.
- Keep the records department's six books: certificates, births, deaths, MLC, disclosures and legal holds.
- Place a legal hold on a patient's records until it is lifted.
- Enter deaths, the report to the registrar and the release of a body; print any register.
Documents and scans
- Upload scans of old paper files for a patient, one at a time or many together.
- Scans are grouped by type, such as discharge summary, lab report, prescription and insurance papers.
- Void a wrong upload with a reason; it stays on record, struck through.
- Discharge summaries and referral letters sit with the patient's record, with corrections as addenda.
- A scan with an unmatched MR number is kept as Not filed, not lost.
Quality and compliance
- Anyone on staff can report an incident; the reporter's name stays confidential.
- The quality team reviews each incident, writes the decision and closes it.
- Track eleven standard monthly quality indicators; a second person checks the figures entered.
- Keep a complaints register, from how each complaint was received to acknowledging and closing it.
- Keep your licences and registrations with end dates, renewals and attached certificates.
- Get reminders for CMCHIS duties, such as the half-yearly doctor and staff roster update.
Emergency codes, fire and disaster
- Set up your own colour codes, then raise a code, log the response and close it.
- Keep code teams, with a shift roster you can print.
- Check crash carts daily, and record when one is opened, restocked and re-sealed.
- Schedule and record mock drills.
- Keep fire safety equipment, hazards, wardens and audits, with due and overdue dates.
- Declare a disaster and run it from a command board: casualties, families, deaths, beds and staff.
Infection control and sterile services
- Keep the infection register for events your infection control team has verified, ward by ward.
- Keep an isolation list of patients on precautions.
- Record hand hygiene audits by unit, and needle-stick and splash exposures in a restricted register.
- Record each steriliser load and its indicator reading, then release, hold or send it back.
- Pack instrument sets, print pack labels, issue packs and record use on a patient.
- Recall a load if needed, record what was done, and print the recall report.
Equipment and support services
- Keep an equipment register with tag numbers, maintenance schedules, warranties and service contracts.
- Record breakdown work orders with downtime, and calibration records for measuring devices.
- See what falls due in the next 30 days: maintenance, calibration, contracts and warranties.
- Run housekeeping rounds by area and see which rounds are overdue.
- Track linen movement, the kitchen's diet list for each bed, and the visitor log.
- Keep pest-control visits, with a reminder when the next one is due.
